Promoting Conservation Through Education

The Raja Ampat Maritime Museum, located near the local marine conservation center, is designed to be a center for education and research. The museum features exhibits covering marine flora and fauna, traditional navigation techniques, and the history of maritime exploration in the region. "Our goal is to raise awareness about the importance of marine conservation while paying tribute to the local maritime heritage," said Museum Director Arief Budiman.

Interactive Exhibits and Immersive Technology

One of the main features of the museum is the use of augmented and virtual reality technology to create an immersive experience for visitors. These interactive exhibits allow visitors to "dive" into Raja Ampat's coral reefs without getting wet, observing the diverse marine life through VR goggles. Additionally, a traditional sailing ship simulator offers the experience of sailing the oceans as early navigators in the region did.
